How to Make your Child drink Regular Milk

My son hated regular milk and formula.  He not only refused bottles, he refused vitamin D milk and Toddler's formula.  I was so concerned because my milk supply started to reduce and he kept rejecting regular milk.  Here are few things you can try to make your toddler start liking and drinking Vitamin D milk.

Remember if your child is transitioning from formula and Breast milk to regular milk it will be hard and slow process.  Some babies love the flavor of regular milk and some babies not so much.   In the case your baby doesn't like the flavor try few of the ideas listed below and hopefully they will help you.

Be calm, don't stress and go at your baby's speed. Encourage your child every sip of milk they take in.  They won't start liking the milk overnight however, after long and hard try they will start drinking milk.

1. Mix breast milk with regular milk. Try slowly and start by adding half an ounce of regular milk to breast milk.  You can do same thing for formula.

2. Mix banana or any fruit into regular milk. It will almost taste like smoothie or milkshake.

3. Pull out the big kid cup or a sippy cup. You can drink milk with your child.  Put it in a mug and offer few sips as your drinking milk.  When they choose the cup they want they might be more willing to drink out of it.

4. Add milk, yogurt and cheese into your babies food.  They might reject

5. Make milk as a choice of drink with meals and as a snack.

6. Try flavored milk for a little older kids.

7. Try Organic Horizon Vanilla Flavored Milk.  It has a pretty closer consistency to breast milk because it's thinner.  It's not preferred choice of milk for kids over 1 and under 2 because it's low in fat however, if your child completely rejects regular milk I am sure he/she will start drinking this milk slowly.  And once they get use to this milk you can start offering regular milk.

I hope some of these ideas work for your baby.  Good Luck

How to remove Dark Under Eyes

After I had my son, we were getting no sleep at all. Day in and day out our son wouldnt sleep because of his acid reflux. This was really taking toll on me. My under eyes were so hollow and dark, it was crazy and I looked beat up.  There was nothing I could do to remove them because all I needed was rest. So I have been following few things to help my under eyes circles.

1. Rest and sleep when you can

2. Drink water

3. Apply under eye cream. Every single day.

4. Gently tap olive,  avocado or baby oil. Every single day.

5. Dont rub too hard under eyes because our under eyes area are so sensitive

6. Apply under eye patches specifically for dark circles. You can get these from any store and doesnt have to be expensive.  These patches will provide moisture and vitamins. Once a week.

7. Apply frozen cucumber pieces for about 15 minutes. Every other day.

8. Apply shreeded cold potatoes. Everyday.

You dont have to do these all at once but try these few once a week. Your under eye circles wont go away over night however it will help reduce them.  I hope these help alot of moms and women suffering from dark under eye circles.

Newborn Baby 101: Things I wish I knew!!

1. Dont panic, it will be ok

2. Feed your baby every 2, 3 hours depending on the advice you received from the doctor. You wont need to feed solid food till about 6 months. Only breastmilk or formula.

3. Burp after every single feeding. Many times babies cry from feeling gassy. If bottle feeding, burp after every ounce. If breastfeeding,  burp after feeding on one side

4. Your baby will not be sleeping through the night. They wont know the difference between day and night yet

5. Do not give them a bath until the umbilical cord falls off

6. Visit the pediatrician the very first week

7. Do not use powder, lotion or apply kajal in the eyes unless otherwise advised

8. Choose a car seat that is convertible. The one you can use as an infant car seat and toddler car seat

9. Wash, wash wash your hands before picking up your baby because baby can easily pick up germs

10. Let others help watch the baby because both parents will need help and rest

11. Keep your baby elevated in the crib or on the floor. This will prevent spit up or gas getting built up

12. If you opted for only breastfeeding,  pump in the morning after feeding your baby. You will get the most milk in the morning

13. Wash your baby's clothes separately.  And try using all natural detergent

14. If your baby cries for no reason its called colic. In other words, many babies cry even after diaper change, being feed and clear of pain. In this case, the baby might just cry for attention to be held, walked, rocked or for comfort

15. Try to keep baby inside for about a month. Keep the baby away from highly infected areas such as grocery stores, department stores, play grounds etc.

16. Babies usually feel similar temperature as us. However,  in the tummy they felt more warmth so put an extra layer on them

17. You will have to change baby's diaper after pretty much every feeding. You will need about 10 to 12 diapers a day. More or less depending on your baby.

18. You will feel like having a baby is the hardest thing yet the most amazing. If you feel like your life just stopped because you had a baby, it is normal to feel this way.  It will pass.

19. Use baby wipes to wipe pee and poo

20. Do not go too long before changing diaper. I say every 2 hours to prevent diaper rash

21. Mom will go through lots of ups and down emotionally so be sure to talk to anyone you feel comfortable with.  Cry it out or talk it out till you feel like for that moment your emotions are out.  It's okay to keep feeling up and down up and down

22. Check your baby's temperature.  And keep the baby away from anyone who is sick

23. SID known as the Sudden Infant Death. Keep an eye on your baby at all times especially at night when we are resting. SIDs can occur for many reasons and its quick. Make sure your baby is breathing and blankets or stuffed animals are blocking their breathing.  Babies cant move so they cant move an object from their face.

24. If mommy and daddy need rest, it is ok to give your baby a bottle. Many studies and book suggest not giving bottle or pacifier till after 1 month however adult body needs rest so just follow your instinct and go with it.

25. Do not take out your frustration or sleep deprivation on your baby. Your baby is helpless and needs your love, care and warmth.

I hope these will help you. Good luck and wish you all the best.

Best Cheap Foundations for Women on the Go

There are dozens of makeup products on the market out there whether they are high end or lower end.  There are few foundations that I recommend that are for women on the go.

These are pretty reasonable since you can find them right in your drugstore and you can always find coupons to get extra discounts.  These are longer lasting and you can simply use the magic of your fingers to apply them.

Be sure to apply moisturizer followed by primer to make your foundation last a long time.

Cover girl Outlast 3 in 1.  This one you can use just with lotion and foundation.  It has primer, foundation and concealer built in so no need to  put additional products if you don't want to.  This one is great for a special evening or special event.

Loreal Magic Nude. This one is not long lasting however, it goes on your skin like silk.  It's literally like applying lotion on your skin and no need to set it with powder.  It will last you few hours and it's super quick to apply. This one is great to use if you are running few errands and want to look more put together.

Loreal True Match. This one will also last hours and give a super flawless look along with healthy and glowing skin.

Revlon Color Stay 24 Hours.  This will really last hours and hours. This is one of the best for those  who live in hot and humid environment.

Revlon Color Stay Whipped Cream.  This too will last hours and hours and looks flawless.  Even this product is great for that special night when you want your pictures to look flawless and want a heavy coverage.

Recipe for Kids: Vermicelli Upma/Masala Noodles

Kids love anything fun especially if their food looks playful. My son loves anything that has pasta or strings because it's fun to eat it. So, recently, I made Vermicelli Upma or you can call it Masala Noodles without the added preservatives and sodium.  You can serve this as breakfast or lunch.  It's super easy to make and tastes good. It sounds like you need a lot of stuff and takes long but it really doesn't take too long.

I am sure your little one will love it and hopefully you will too.  For this recipe you'll need the following ingredients:

* Tomatoes, onions, yellow or red bell peppers. Honestly, you can add any vegetables your little one likes.Also, add as much as you like
* 1 Teaspoon Urad Daal
* 2,3 Curry Leaves.  Totally Optional
* 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
* 1 Tablespoon Oil
* Salt
* Pinch of Sugar
* Pinch of Turmeric Powder
* Half teaspoon of Chili Powder
* Half teaspoon of Ginger
* Vermicelli or Rice Noodles
* Warm water

Method:

-> Heat up a Pan
-> Add Oil and let it heat up
-> Add Cumin Seeds, Urad Daal, Vegetables, Salt, Sugar, curry leaves, Turmeric Powder, Chili Powder and Ginger.  Let it cook for 2 minutes or till all the vegetables absorb spices and cook (medium Heat)
-> Add Vermicelli or Rice Noodles
-> Saute for about 2,3 minutes on medium heat so they start to turn a little brown
-> Add  warm water till it covers all the vegetables and the vermicelli
-> Keep Stirring every 2,3 minutes so nothing sticks to the bottom
-> Cook for about 5 to 7 minutes or till the Vermicelli doubles in size.  You will see a difference because they look bigger and fluffier.
-> Mix and Serve

Give it a try and let me know how your little one likes it.

My OMG, WTH Moment

Gosh, how did I get here.. While my son was napping, I finished all the chores around the house and just felt bored. So, I asked my self, what to do with this precious time.......

And..... I did what????

I picked up my sharpest and most expensive $10 scissors and started to cut my hair.

I had seen a older picture of me where I had bangs so I said what the heck let me get them cut again.

Instead of going to the salon, I took matters into my own hands and cut my bangs.. lol.... lol..

How did they turn out? Ok, they dont look bad but definitely should of gone to the salon. I am sure a lot of us have these crazy OMG moments...

So what was your OMG moment? Let me know in the comment section below.

Aishwariya Rai looks stunning at 2014 Cannes Festival

Hello Ladies,

So its been 2 years since one of the most beautiful face on earth gave birth to a beautiful daughter Aaradhya Bachchan. She was criticized instantly after she gave birth because she didnt loose the baby weight over night.

For once, we have a celebrity who actually took a break from lime light and prioritized being a mother. Yet, people couldnt stop talking about her weight. Even if she had lost weight, people would have criticized her for prioritizing her career over being a mother. So it was definitely a loose loose situation.

I am so glad that she actually took her time to be comfortable in her own skin and slowly lost the weight. We can actually see a reality through her weight battle along with being a mother.  Women come in all shapes and sizes and she definitely is a proof of that definition.

At the 2014 Cannes Film Festival,  she looked absolutely stunning and beautiful.  She showed mommy power, strength and comfort in her own curves.

How to Entertain your toddler when you are tired?

Hello all,

So its one of those days when you are beat, tired and feeling under the weather. Your body has run out of energy but your little one definitely has not.  Here are few ideas that will keep your little one busy so you can catch some slack.

Just as a side note, these are few tips that have worked for me. I didnt sit here and research,  just my thoughts.

1. Lay down and read with your toddler.
2. Get the crayons, pens and paper out because scribbling is great way to keep them busy for sometime.
3. Hide items around one room and while you are sitting down, ask them to go find the items such as balls or their favorite toys.
4. Pull out your laundry basket and drag it around.
5. Bring out your pots and pans and play drums.
6. Help your child organize small storage containers.
7. Pull out your albums or show them pictures of family on your laptop or phone.
8. Fill a container with things such as balls, shapes pieces or spoons.
9. Arrange a playdate so other mom's can help you.
10. Buckle them up in a stroller and go for a leisurely walk.
11. Play hide and seek by covering your face with a towel.
12. Give your child his/her favorite snack.

I hope some of these can help you as they have helped me.

Beauty within a reach of your makeup bag in five minutes

We have all been there when we want to feel good inside and out. Whether you are a mother, mommy to be or just one busy bee. You have no time to pamper your self for hours and hours. I have the perfect ideas on looking fabulous in minutes.

Yes, many of you may say beauty comes from within but seriously lets get real here, we dont always feel our inner beauty telling us you look beautiful today and this is where the magic of make up comes in. So ladies here it goes:

1. Put on some lotion
2. Put on either a BB Cream, CC Cream, Tinted Moisturizer,  or foundation using your fingers.
3. Conceler to cover under eyes circles
4. Lighly set your face with setting powder
5. Light blush
6. Mascara
7. Lip balm or lipstick

Seems long but doesnt take too long. You dont need to sit and apply eye liner, eyeshadow,  fake lashes or even contouring. Seriously, is all that necessary. This will give a nice kick in your self a steam.

Beauty doesn't just have to come from inside or out but infact it should come from your life it self. Make up will cover alot hidden but remember to find happiness one day at a time.
